In all of its glory, with its satisfying taste, the great British pie has long been a tradition to enjoy amongst family and friends.

About this course:

This one day course will give you all the knowledge and essential skills you need, to feel more confident when working with pastry at home.  You will be making a collection of pies and pastries using a range of techniques that will further your skills using different types of pastry.

Techniques you will learn on the day:

– You will learn how to make a delicious hot water crust pastry that can be used for a variety of pies

– How to make a rough puff pastry

– Filling techniques

– Step by step demonstration of finishing your pie, from shaping, crimping and weaving a lattice top

– How to use different filling ingredients to produce satisfying savoury pies

– Presentation techniques that will exert extravagance, and impress all of your friends and family

You will learn and take home:

– You will learn how to make a delicious hot water crust pork pie

– You will produce a satisfying steak and old ale pie using the rough puff pastry technique

– How to make a skilful asparagus and smoked salmon tart
